Powertrain And Performance
The three-door front-wheel driven Scion iQ is motivated by a 1.3-liter, four-cylinder engine which produces 94 horsepower and 89 lb ft of torque. The engine is paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that helps deliver smooth acceleration and excellent fuel efficiency. It can maneuver through city traffic effortlessly thanks to the MacPherson struts up front and a compact torsion beam rear suspension. Though short in length, it handles like a large car because of a wide stance (66.1 inches).
The iQ is an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-II) and delivers an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating of 37 miles per gallon on highways. In city, it yields 36 mpg.
Build And Styling
The 2012 Scion iQ rolls on elegant five-spoke 16-inch steel wheels. The exterior features power outside mirrors with turn signal indicators and projector beam headlamps.
The standard interior features include full power accessories, air-conditioning, a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel with audio controls, radiant orange instrument panel, leather-wrapped gear shift knob, ECO driver indicator, a 50/50-split-folding rear seat, Bluetooth and a Pioneer four-speaker sound system with a CD player, HD radio, an auxiliary audio jack and a USB port.
