Overview
Scion tC has been completely redesigned for 2011 with innovative styling, better performance and technologies that enhance driver's experience and the same has been carried forward for 2012. The all-new 2012 Scion tC comes with more power, increased fuel efficiency, superior driving dynamics, and more safety features than earlier models. The tC, launched in 2004, is one of Scion's bestselling vehicles and the new all-new 2012 Scion tC is likely to take the brand to a whole new level of customer satisfaction.
Powertrain And Performance
An all-new 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine rated at 180 horsepower, 19 more than the previous model, and 11 additional lbs.-ft of torque powers the Scion tC. The engine offers the latest in efficient, lightweight technology, including Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), roller rocker arms and a Variable-induction Intake Manifold System. Two all-new six-speed transmissions (Manual and automatic) are offered. The electronic power-steering system increases fuel efficiency.
Build And Styling
A compact, five-passenger hatchback coupe available in a single trim level, the Scion tC offers air-conditioning, a panoramic sunroof, a height-adjustable driver seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, full power accessories, reclining and folding 60/40-split rear seats, and an eight-speaker Pioneer sound system with CD player, auxiliary audio jack, iPod/USB interface and RCA output jacks. A host of dealer installed items like Bluetooth, satellite radio, a rear spoiler and a navigation system are available.
Safety Features
The supplemental restraint system (SRS) gets front passenger knee airbag and this brings the total number of airbags to eight. Driver and front passenger airbags, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbags, driver knee airbag, and side curtain airbags are additional. Anti-lock Brakes (ABS) Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) are standard. Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control (TRAC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and a brake override system have been newly included in the standard safety equipment list. Driver can turn off the VSC and/or the TRAC features through a button. A tire pressure monitoring system and newly adopted active front headrests are newly added additional features.
