Scion xB receives some significant exterior and interior styling updates for 2012. A four-door, five-passenger wagon, 2012 Scion xB offers lengthy list standard features for a reasonable price and also offers an extensive list of aftermarket-type accessories, providing scope for customization according to personal requirements. The 2012 xB features a revised styling and the interior receives some new features like a telescoping steering wheel and a separate clock. More visually interesting upholstery and a center console bin with sliding armrest are other new key features. The standard equipment includes 16-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, rear window tint, a choice of three plastic wheel covers, full power accessories, air-conditioning, driver seat height adjustment, a tilt steering wheel, cruise control, a trip computer, steering-wheel audio controls and a six-speaker Pioneer stereo with a CD player, a USB audio jack, an auxiliary audio jack, an iPod interface, a customizable display and an RCA output for additional speakers. The xB provides 21 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. The maximum cargo space reaches up to 70 cubic feet when rear seats are folded down. A number of options are available.
Safety Features
The 2012 Scion xB has long list of safety features. Antilock brakes, stability control, traction control, front seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags are among the standard features. In federal government crash tests, the xB scored four stars (out of five) for both driver and passenger in frontal impacts, and a perfect five stars for side impacts. From the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the xB received the highest rating for both frontal-offset and side impact crashes. The xB is also ah IIHS "Top Safety Pick" for this model year.
